Feriköy Antique Market
"Feriköy Antique Market is a massive covered Sunday market in the Bomonti district specializing in antiques, vinyl records, vintage cameras, Ottoman-era objects, and retro collectibles. Unlike tourist-trap bazaars, this is where serious collectors and Istanbul hipsters hunt for treasures. The atmosphere is chaotic but genuine—vendors are knowledgeable and prices are negotiable. On Saturdays, the same space hosts an organic food market."

The Backstory
The Feriköy market began informally in the 1990s when elderly residents of this historically Greek and Armenian neighborhood began selling family heirlooms after economic hardship. What started as a sidewalk flea market grew into Istanbul's premier antique bazaar. The covered structure was built in 2008 to formalize the market. Many vendors are second or third-generation dealers whose families escaped to Istanbul during regional conflicts, bringing objects from across Anatolia, the Caucasus, and the Balkans.
Local Secret
"Arrive early (8-9 AM) for the best selection before serious collectors pick through everything. Prices are marked but expect to negotiate—starting at 60-70% of the asking price is normal. Bring cash; many vendors don't accept cards. The vinyl section is world-class for Turkish psychedelic rock and Anatolian pop from the 1970s."
